Passion week is appropriately named. It's a week of passion - of extremes, of emotions, of tumult - from what seems to be the pinnacle of Jesus' popularity at the Triumphal Entry on Palm Sunday, to the depths of despair in his Crucifixion on Good Friday. What as that day like for his mom, his siblings, his disciples? What grey pallor hung over not just Jesus' body in the grave, but over their very souls?
But then came Sunday. They weren't expecting it. He'd told them, but they missed it. He came anyway. The sought a corpse in a tomb. They found Him alive in the garden!
In the English monarchy, there's this curious turn of phrase when a king dies. "All hail the king. The king is dead. Long live the king!" Only in Jesus are all these statements true, for all early monarchies are mere shadows of his Truth. Come journey with us at 10:30 in these special Passion week services.
Actually, come early at 10:00 and join us for coffee, tea and some sweet bite before service, too. We look forward to worshipping together with you.
