What are you hoping for for Christmas? A premium gift, like a new motorcyle or BBQ, the latest Samsung or Apple product, or the latest Manolo Blahniks? Have I capitulated to materialism in posing this question? Adults tell the kids that its all about the giving, not the receiving, but kids don't fall for that. And there's some kid in all our hearts. We're looking forward to the gifts!
I want you to imagine with me, however, that rather than your or your grandma's living room, that you've been invited into a far grander living room. Heaven's. You see a tree like one you've never seen before. There are presents under that tree. And there's someone already there. God. And this is the living room in which you'll be spending Christmas this year.
It turns out that Christmas really is all about the gifts. Four, in particular. Three from God Himself, and one from you.
We invite you, your family and your friends on this both imaginary and real journey this year on Sunday mornings at 10:30 am.
Actually, come early at 10:00 and join us for coffee, tea and some sweet bite before service, too! We look forward to worshiping together with you this Sunday.
